Adam and Chelsie arrived a week into my trip and I was happy to have them. You always meet plenty of people traveling, but it is hard to find good friends with whom you are completely comfortable, like I am with Adam & Chelsie.
We had some good times together. We frequented the the movie theaters Monday through Wednesday when movies were a mere 9 pesos ($3). Most of the movies are in English with Spanish subtitles. We told ourselves it was studying because we would read the subtitles while watching the movies, but looking back I am not sure it helps that much. A weekly, if not bi-weekly trip to Grants (Argentinas answer to the Rio Buffet in Vegas) was a tradition. The cost of Lunch was 5 dollars and dinner 7. It really is the as good, if not better, than any Vegas buffet and it is so cheap. Their dessert spread might possibly the best assortment of sweats ever assembled.
We tried a couple of Spanish schools out and couldn't find one that suited us so we ended finding a private tutor on Craigs List. Her name was Andrea. She traveled an hour each way to teach us in Adam & Chelsie's apartment. We paid her $6 dollars an hour between the three of us. That sounds pretty cheap, but she wasn't the best teacher in the world. She is one of those people that thinks that medication is bad and that all things can be cured naturally. Apparently she had something against wearing bras and shaving her pits too. She was really nice, but we only lasted 2 weeks.
Adam and Chelsie left for Bariloche around the 25th of November. They have since moved back to Houston. I was planning on spending Christmas with them so it was sad to see them go.
